Heavier vehicles with larger brake systems such as the 2020-2021 Cadillac XT6 are more likely to experience higher temperatures, requiring a brake pad that has excellent heat dissipation characteristics.
Hawk Performance has applied their severe-duty friction technology to the braking demands of light trucks and SUVs. Their new LTS (Light Truck & SUV) Ferro-Carbon compound was developed utilizing cutting edge polymer research, advanced carbon fiber processing, on-vehicle field evaluations and extensive dynamometer testing. The new compound combines the durability of Hawk Performance's commercial fleet products with the elevated stopping power of its performance street and motorsports formulations.
Features & Benefits
- Improved braking over standard replacement pads
- Smooth engagement
- Extremely fade resistant
- Low noise output
- Low dust output
- Extended pad life
- Increased rotor life
Brake pads are wear items and as such, should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Pads should be replaced when approximately 1/8th inch of friction material remains on the steel backing plate.
Note: Even though Hawk Performance burnishes its brake pads as a final step in the factory, all brake pads have to be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used against. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.
