EBC Stage 6 Trackday Disc Brake Kit / 2005-2006 Pontiac GTO

Waking up an LS2-powered Pontiac GTO is easy, but bringing 3,700-plus pounds of American-badged Aussie muscle to a definitive, repeatable stop on a road course or a hard canyon run is a different story. The factory '05-'06 brakes were a massive upgrade over the '04 setup, but aggressive driving quickly reveals their limits in heat dissipation.

The EBC Stage 6 Trackday Disc Brake Kit is specifically engineered to eliminate brake fade, increase initial bite, and give your GTO the track-ready stopping power its horsepower demands.

The Performance Breakdown

EBC Bluestuff NDX Formula 5000 Series Pads The Stage 6 kit centers entirely around the Bluestuff NDX compound. This is EBC’s entry-level track and endurance material, engineered specifically for drivers who drive their cars to the track, run hard sessions, and drive home without swapping pads.

Pre-Scorched Surface: The pad faces are factory surface-scorched. This accelerates the bedding-in process drastically, allowing you to pre-bed the setup safely on the street before hitting the road course.

Cold-Bite Confidence: Unlike traditional semi-metallic race pads that feel "dead" or wooden until they get hot, Bluestuff delivers an assertive initial bite right from ambient temperatures.

High-Heat Endurance: Formulated to withstand constant lapping without dissolving, maintaining a stable friction coefficient even when the GTO’s front heavy bias spikes rotor temps.

NRS Hook Technology: The friction material is chemically and mechanically bonded to the backplates using Nucap NRS hook matrix tech, preventing edge lift or pad debonding under extreme thermal shear.

EBC GD Series Dimpled & Slotted Rotors To complement the high-friction Bluestuff compound, the kit includes wide-aperture GD series performance rotors cast from premium G3000-spec iron.

Wide-Aperture Degassing Slots:

Rather than thin slots that can pack with debris, these wide channels sweep across the face to pull away boundary layer gasses, dust, and carbon deposits to ensure flat pad contact.

Blind-Drilled Dimples: They offer the thermal expansion relief and degassing benefits of a fully cross-drilled rotor, but without the catastrophic cracking risks across the hole radius common on heavy cars under track loads.

Geomet Silver-Grey Anti-Corrosion Coating: EBC transitioned from their legacy black paint to a high-durability silver-grey Geomet finish. It covers the non-contact zones, vents, and hats to prevent stubborn rust scale without damaging pad material during initial break-in
