The CHC had their annual BBQruise on July 23, 2016. If you remember from the previous post, host Lou Angel was hoping that this year would be the year they’d break their record of 74 cars set back in 2013. Well, ladies and gents, the CHC did it! They had a total of 76 cars in attendance this year.
According to Lou, “We started the cruise from my home in Des Plaines with 33 cars".
The cruise from Lou's home was about 2 hours to the Target. Besides a few cars getting pulled over by the local police everyone had a great time on the cruise!
On the way to Lake Geneva everyone stopped at a Marathon gas station for a little break and gas!
At the final stop seven more cars joined us there. We basically had a car show at the Target for a good 1.5 to 2 hours. [We] cruised by the beach to show off the cars and ended up with 45 cars on the way home. Started the BBQ and party where we had 31 more cars join us, for a total of 76 cars!”
Taylor Hagg, one of the attendees said, “ I had a great time and there’s always new people to meet at every event. The different style everyone has is cool too. For there only being 4 different models of cars, there’s so much variety in this group. There’s not a car I saw that I wouldn’t mind having in my garage.”
Eric Weinberger commented, “ It was ridiculously hot and humid, but that didn’t keep the CHC from representing what a car club/family should be. Beautiful cars, but more importantly, great people!”

What a great turnout for such an awesome event! Kudos to Lou Angel and company for hosting and bringing GTO, G8 and SS fans together in the Midwest. We hope you have an even better turn out next year.
