The “GTO” you all have been waiting for!

Finally the Die Cast Car we all have been waiting for from Hot Wheels!

@hotwheelsdreamteam on Instagram just released this today and this is what they had to say about it: "Had Pontiac continued their Super Duty program of factory built race cars and used the Holden built GTO as the basis for this- what might it look like? Introducing the 2006 GTO new for 2021 and only from Hot Wheels"

The last time we saw any diecast in this scale was back around 2006-2007 when Johnny Lighting came out with their version of the GTO.
Johnny Lighting is known to make the cars closer to the real thing. These particular GTO die-cast were offered in the same colors as the real GTOs, like Yellow Jacket, Impulse Blue and Spice Red. However enthusiasts were there to point out all the flaws. As shown in the above image, enthusiasts would voice that Spice Red was not offered in a 2004 model. When Johnny Lighting released the "2006 model" those same enthusiasts pointed out that it didn't have any hood scoops.  You can't make anyone happy these days can you. lol!
Well since they complained, here is my personal gripe with these GTO Johnny Lightings. The wheels and tires were always weirdly placed and looked funny form the sides. Then again that is almost every Johnny Lighting. lol!
We just need to tell ourselfs that these are just a toy or a "collectors" diecast and stop bitching. lol!  I am personally just happy that someone offered them!  In fact you can't even find these on ebay anymore and you can see people selling these in the upwards of $20 to $30 dollars now.  We should just be happy that Johnny Lightning offered them and be happy they always based their die-casts upon a realistic colors and designs.

Which leads us back to this up and coming 2021 die-cast GTO from Hot Wheels. We are sure people are already complaining about the wheelie bars. Or that the hood scoops look like those ebay double stick on ones.  lol!

Personally I am not a fan of the rear "wheelie bars" either, but i get what Hot Wheels are trying to do. Hot Wheels is the brand that brought you the Red Baron and the Radio Flyer! If you know those names we know your a collector and we can see the future direction of this die-cast.

Heck we even know they will probably make some super ugly colored ones with some Candy Brand or Marvel name splattered along the side of it over the years to come.

Either way are are stoked to see this year GTO as a Hot Wheels! We will be sure to horde them when we see them because we know you will too! ;)
